Overview

Background

A transit development plan is a 5-year plan which provides a vision for transit in the city. Rochester’s last transit development plan update was in 2017. Since 2017 Rochester Public Transit has implemented the following improvements:

  • Earlier weekday morning service
  • Later weekday evening service
  • Expanded Saturday hours
  • New Sunday and holiday service
  • New service areas
  • New BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) service in development
  • Simplified route numbering
  • Improved trip planning service and interactive map

About the Plan

The Rochester Transit Development Plan 2022 Update will provide recommendations for how Rochester’s transit system can improve and build upon Rochester’s 2017 Transit Development Plan. The plan will evaluate and make short- and long-term recommendations for:
